Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning (AIML) Contest

Workshops will take place between July 29 and August 9. This workshop will help participants have an understanding of the initialization, Training and Testing, and evaluation of the base engines used for the contest. This schedule is tentative and subject to change. All the materials used for this workshop (slides, notes, code) will be provided to participants as soon as possible.

Use of open source programs must obey Open Source Organization rules . Use of the open source programs for commercial purposes must receive written permission from MSU Technology, the owner of the patents and copyrights.

Mon. July 29, 2019 DN Review and Contest Rules.

We'll discuss expectations and objectives. Explain the rules and evaluation metrics for the contest submissions.

We'll have a discussion/review session about the DN covered during the BMI Summer School.

Tue. July 30, 2019 Problem Analysis for DN

Before we start studying and modifying the DN source code, we'll talk about how to initialize the network. Training the DN requires to know both inputs and actions. We will identify the size and neurons needed to teach the DN properly.

Wed. July 31, 2019 Initialize/Run the DN engine I

Learn how to initialize the DN engine for various agent bodies.

Thur. August 1, 2019 Initialize/Run the DN engine II

Continue to learn how to implement the DN engine for other agent bodies.

Fri. August 2, 2019 AIML Contest Interface Tool

Show how to use the contest interface tool to evaluate the network performance and submit the network's report.

Mon. August 5, 2019 DN Implementation I

Apply all the knowledge from the previous lectures and create the contest submission program. Participants will study and modify a DN source program and evaluate its performance using the contest interface.

Tue. August 6, 2019 DN Implementation II

Continue to study and modify a DN source program for the contest.

Wed. August 7, 2019 AIML Contest Submission Report

We'll discuss the format and requirements to submit the DN program (optional but encouraged for fair contest evaluation) and its responses.

Thur. August 8, 2019 AIML Contest Submission

Questions regarding the contest submission. Open session to ask questions about the program and help participants with any DN concepts.

Fri. August 9, 2019 AIML Contest Workshop Review

Discussion on all the material covered on this workshop. Open discussion with participants regarding the Summer School and the workshop experience.
